 Software Business Analyst

The PayDirect software development group within Evolution1 is looking for a highly motivated individual with strong attention to detail who enjoys working in a fast paced team environment.  This position requires strong analytical and product management skills, including the ability to interact professionally with partners, executives, managers, and subject manager experts. In addition, the ideal candidate will possess an understanding of software quality assurance and the ability to develop and execute testing plans and scenarios.  A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

The key responsibilities of the ideal candidate:

Contribute to the Company vision to improve productivity of the benefit management function through quality, commitment, courtesy and teamwork.

  • Derive requirements through partner interviews, analysis and extrapolation of existing functionality, requirements workshops, site visits, existing documentation (manuals, knowledge base articles, requirements/design artifacts), and research/understanding of industry trends, government regulations, and industry associations.
  • Evaluate information from multiple sources and points of view in order to distinguish between casual requests and underlying true needs.
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate within the organization as needed to create 1) functional requirements, 2) business scenarios, Screen/GUI designs and interface specifications.
  • Successfully engage in multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
  • Work independently with partners to guide them in using PayDirect products effectively.
  • Serves as the coordinator between the partner community and the software development team.
  • Serve as the internal liaison between the sales, technology, operational, and support organizations.
  • Develop and maintain detailed test cases from product designs and requirements.
  • Test application software to assure accuracy, integrity, and completeness to achieve desired results.
  • Communicate product defects to Development and Support in our bug tracking system.
  • Verify bug fixes and perform regression testing.
  • Produce release notes for each production build of the Paydirect Client and Web products.
  • Configure test environments - SQL Server databases, SQL Scripts, and Paydirect software installations and upgrades. 
  • Use discretion to effect timely solution of problems in order to ensure customer satisfaction, eliminate downtime, and prevent cost overruns.

Desired Skills/Abilities and Knowledge:

  • Related business experience with Flexible Benefit Plans, Insurance Benefits, or Claims Processing.
  • Experience providing software customer support and troubleshooting.
  • B.S. in Information Systems Technology (or related discipline) or equivalent experience in a business analyst role or software testing/quality assurance environment
  • Experience creating and executing detailed test cases with a demonstrated understanding of QA processes in a Software Development Life-Cycle
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with SQL Server - writing scripts and/or database queries to perform routine tasks.
  • Working knowledge and experience performing system OS installation and configuration for the WinXP, Windows 7, Windows 2003 and 2008 server.

 Defined Contribution Product Manager

The Defined Contribution Product Manager is responsible for product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle. The Defined Contribution Product Manager works closely with the application development team to ensure that new features meet or exceed market needs and to define key business and technical requirements. The Defined Contribution Product Manager will also work closely with sales, marketing, and business partners to understand the direction of the market and ensure our product is market leading.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Defining the product strategy and roadmap
  • Gathering and prioritizing product requirements from internal and external constituents
  • Development of product documentation to support the application development process including Feature Definition Documents (FDDs) and technical requirements documents
  • Collaborating with teams to define and estimate features and related tasks
  • Serving as the key subject matter expert on the Defined Contribution product line. This includes support of sales and marketing activities in meetings with prospective partners, performing demonstrations of the product and assistance in development of RFP responses.
  • Commercialization of new products and features  including development of pricing strategies, management of pilots with key partners, and ensuring operational readiness of the organization to sell, implement, and support the product
  • Identifying and managing application and project interdependencies
  • Identifying potential risks to completion of deliverables, development of mitigation strategies and raising awareness in a timely manner

Qualifications:

  • Understanding of the healthcare industry, specifically Consumer Driven Healthcare (CDH)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in gathering, prioritizing, and documenting key business and technical requirements
  • Knowledge of the system development lifecycle, particularly the Agile development methodology
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with complex challenges independently and collaboratively with team members
  • Familiar with common web and e-commerce concepts, tools and technologies and knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the software
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or equivalent education and experience in software product development and/or, product management
  • 3-5 years of product development or management experience

  Quality Assurance Analyst - Based in St. Louis

Quality Assurance Analysts are the champions of quality for Evolution1 customers.  Quality Assurance Analysts document and implement test plans, identify technical problems, and present solutions against standards and specifications. In addition, Quality Assurance Analysts address and analyze bugs and defects and identify ways to improve overall product and process quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing technical expertise to the product team while adhering to testing policies and procedures.
  • Follow and continuously improve the QA processes and methodologies. 
  • Integrate and improve the testing lifecycle of a web based and client server application from a manual and automated functional perspective as well as from a performance and load perspective.
  • Follow common work processes, standards, tools and coordinate quality assurance activities across teams to meet business and customer needs.
  • Participate in use case reviews, design meetings, etc. to further understand business requirements and systems design.
  • Develop accurate and consistent software quality assurance documentation including test plans, test cases and participate in the execution of test cases.
  • Coordinate with developers and business analysts to test applications and provide direction on defect repairs.

Core Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of the software life cycle. Demonstrate strong knowledge, interest and experience with QA processes and methodologies. Proven experience with development processes and QA testing concepts within software development lifecycles
  • Minimum of two years of software testing experience.
  • Strong SQL skills
  • Experience with automated test tool required.
